Land’s End Surprise & Forever 21 OOTD

A few days ago I received a Land’s End Canvas catalog in the mail and was somewhat surprised since I never shop there. Well, except that one time when I got the somewhat-distant relative Thousand Day’s skirt in navy. I was pleased with the results and even more tickled that returns could be taken at any Sears for a hassle-free transaction. Back to the catalog- it was actually quite pleasant, in that preppy, oxford-style kinda way. Perhaps it was all the Fall outfits but I really liked how things were paired together, like oxford and chambray shirts with cute little corduroy skirts in various colors. It got me thinking of simpler times without all the whimsical Anthro pieces. Now don’t get me wrong, nothing could ever replace Anthro, but there is definitely something special and clean about a button-down shirt, solid-color skirt, tights, and boots. Throw in a beret and cardi….we’re headed to Cambridge!

Here’s a couple of pieces I’ve got my eye on:

I see the possibilities more for the fall, with like a long cardigan and knee-length boots.
My admiration started with the skirt, but now the whole outfit has grabbed my attention!
Simple, flattering, excellent price point, sold!
The following were discovered in the ridiculousness that is a F21 store. While the deals are great, finding something worthwhile is definitely a scavenger hunt. Thorns aside, I’m quite happy with both pieces and like their girlie factor.

  1. The fit and flare dress is adorable. And at the sale price of $29.50, it's a pretty good deal too!And I love the satin-trim skirt from F21. I am trying to decide whether I am brave enough to go into an F21 store to search it out.

  2. every person I know that has purchased the fit and flare dress has loved it. I totally see it for fall, too! it's always fun to see a great outfit come out of the rubble that is F21. But then when I see a great piece, like your skirt, I want to try and find it for myself!

  3. The F21 finds look great! I'm in love with the LEC fit and flare, it gets worn again as soon as it gets washed. There's a free ship with no limit code, RETRO, pin 1024, that expires the 30th. The modal convertible dress is great too. Those two got enough use this summer that I'm eyeing the fall catalog pretty covetously!

  4. I love all of your picks from Lands End – especially love the dress! I totally hear ya on the F21 madness – sometimes, when I'm feeling especially patient and/or brave, I'll go in there but I always end up leaving because I just get so overwhelmed! You found some goodies, though, and you look great! 🙂
