Catmint Dress & Facelift

The power of bloggie friends…I had never paid much attention to this dress before and not really sure why. Perhaps because I thought I’d seen it elsewhere, been there done that sorta thing. Then I caught sight of it here on Tien and was blown away. She just looked stunning per usual, and I was really intrigued so went ahead and ordered it (hallelujah for free shipping!). It’s so pretty and flowy, the gauze material is the perfect texture for this heat upon us and the buttons on the back are the perfect little bit of detail. I realize now that Tien had also paired it with the ethereal cardi from J Crew as I did today and the ruffles add on to the flowy.
Today it was a little bit cooler so miraculously I wore a cardigan and it kept me cozy throughout the day. Added on the petite and bright belt in its shocking color and there you have it- a casual but lady-like Sunday outfit.

Oh yeah, the blog got a makeover! I feel like it’s made a world of difference and feels more me. I moved some things around to provide a bit of refreshment. Let me know what you think and if you like it too (or don’t)!

  1. I really like the new layout! It just seems more put together. The Catmint Dress looks adorable and comfy on you! And I'm jealous that you could wear a cardigan today!

  2. I'm loving the new layout and colors. I esp. love the birds flying away at the top!Seeing another blogger point out lovely prints or stylings of a piece is definately a big influence on what I buy. Sometimes I don't look twice at something but when someone points out the pretty print or color it makes me open my eyes in a different way. I love that dress on you and the belt is so cool with it!

  3. Love the new look (both the blog and the dress!)! I was so excited when the catmint dress went on sale, it's a lovely print and perfect for late summer in my opinion. I've been pairing mine with mint and brown a lot but I like the color combo you did here!

  4. Super fun belt…the color is so fun! And I really think I need to get one of those cardigans…they look so good with eveything! Your dress is beautiful on you!!

  5. Both you and Tien pull this dress off wonderfully! It was not so great on me, but you guys have the perfect figures for it I think πŸ™‚ And I love your necklace as well — is that really Target?Hope you are having a wonderful weekend Dea! πŸ™‚

  6. i love your blog makeover! the way your blog roll is set up seems really organized. nice job! that aside, OH MY GOODNESS!!! i almost got the catmint dress, but decided against it (mostly because i though my bust would be too large for it – which it probably is). but it's seriously stunning on you – and i'm really digging on the honey colored cardi and the bright coral belt. this outfit is truly inspirational, and i'm pretty sure my favorie of yours to date πŸ™‚

  7. You and tien both bring this dress to life. I love the pop of color you added with the belt! You blog makeover is just lovely and feels very organic like you.

  8. i like the birds on the background of your new page! it looks great! the pop of color from the belt really adds a fun element to your dress, not to mention that jcrew has some of the best belts around! πŸ™‚

  9. Dea, this is ONLY outfit that I don't like on you! The pairing is not at all good. I think you will rock the dress just by wearing it like a sun dress. Hot pink belt (I have similar skinny belt from J Crew) and the oatmeal color cardi combo is just way too ugly, I am so sorry. You look so cute in every other outfits I have seen you wearing in this blog, and you look like an Anthro model in all of them. Not this one, sorry!Good night! πŸ™‚

  10. The Catmint dress is so pretty on you! I admired it from afar online, because I feared the bottom portion would be too full for me….how I wish I lived closer to a store so I could try these pieces on and know for sure. You're certainly proving that it can be a perfectly flattering piece…but that's probably because of your fabulous figure! Anyway, you do look incredibly ladylike and lovely!
