Flamenco Folkwear in A Mini

For those of you who’ve known me (not like in person but like in bloggie land know me) for a while, you’ll remember my adoration/fascination with flamenco dancing and how after a study abroad stint in Spain, I wanted to drop out of college, move to Sevilla permanently and become a professional flamenco dancer. Sure my parents would disown me and the host mother that took care of me would wonder when I’d actually move out, but I was really dreaming there for a while.
Nine years later the dream is still in me and tucked away, but let me assure you that on plenty of occassions I turn up my Spanish Guitar Pandora station and live out my fantasies. In North Carolina!
Imagine my delight when I spotted this skirt all by its lonesome in H&M a few months ago and was completely enamored. Not exactly in my size but I could not let it get away. Not only did it remind me of the
Coming & Going Skirt
but it also took me back to those amazingly intricate flamenco dresses, full of polka dots and ruffles, layers upon layers, perfect for dancing hours upon hours.

  1. Ooh let's move to Spain and do it! Or maybe go for an intensive month of flamenco training. 🙂 I love the skirt you found and it looks great with that top. Love the new layout too.
