OOTD: Striped & Peppered

The only really positive thing about waking up at 5am for schoolwork is that I’ve got first dibs on Anthropologie’s Tuesday sale. While it wasn’t a sizeable sale, somehow items that I’d had my eye on were marked down – go figure!

I broke down and ordered the following:

                                     Tria Sweater Skirt

Pilcro Cohort Cords (in lilac) – my third pair. I have a problem

                                          Loosely Looped Tee

In other news, today was ridiculously, teeth-chattering, long-undies-wearing cold and instead of piling on weather-appropriate clothing that can potentially protect me from catching a cold, I chose to wear a skirt and tights with holes. Of course, because on days where it might reach 60 degrees, that’s when I like to go for that irritatingly itchy sweater. Pure logic guys, seems to happen quite often much to my dismay.

This skirt is too cute, and makes me feel like copying the Harry Potter heroine (I believe some call her Hermione) look by grabbing an oxford white shirt, v-neck sweater and navy blazer to complete the schoolgirl appeal. Maybe for next time! I found it in the Jacksonville, FL store on my way home for Thanksgiving, and could not stay away any longer. Plus, I worried that my size would be no more if I waited for a sale. Crossed my fingers it would be marked down in the next two weeks but instead it ended up being a not-to-regret full price purchase. As much as I love it I was having a bit of a hard time this morning on what to pair it with, so I turn to you ol’ wise ones:
How would you style this lovely little number?
      j crew tee
    anthropologie necklace
    anthropologie peppered & striped skirt
       f21 tights
   dolce vita boots

  1. Oh I love the skirt with pink, and those tights! I wore mine with my beige Volante tee, but I'm also struggling with how to wear mine, so I look forward to seeing ideas!

  2. The skirt–nay the whole outfit–looks fab on you.I'm eager to hear what you think of the lilac cords when they arrive. I ordered them too (I've got the same problem you mentioned!) and decided they're so close to the grey color (which I, naturally, already bought) that there's no point in keeping them.Beth

  3. it looks like it was one of those days where it's so cold out but the sun is shining and it's so deceptive! The skirt looks soooo cute with tights and boots. I love it worn this way!

  4. I ended up caving on the Anthro sale, too. The Tria skirt and Loosely Looped top were just too much for me to resist. I think the Striped and Pepper skirt looks good the way you've styled it. I agree with the others who have suggested pairing it with navy or gold.

  5. The skirt is so gorgeous! I love the little pattern on it! And I definitely want to see you pull a Hermione and pair it with an oxford shirt and navy blazer, teehehe! I bet you'd look so cute! It's long enough to not look TOO school girl-y, too…I bet it would look really cute with gray-and-white checkered buttondown shirt and a red cardigan! Maybe with a wide brown belt, too… hmmmm… Also, I can't wait to see you style your new purchases!

  6. I like it with the Volante tee but what you paired it with looks great! It's a hard one to style but I love it they way you have it with the boots…that's how I would wear it as well.
